The client

An industrial trade fair with 1,401 accredited professionals.

On 8 and 9 September 2026, Battery & Energy Storage Tech Europe brought together manufacturers, integrators, suppliers and technology centres from the battery and energy storage sector in Hall 2 of Fira Barcelona Gran Via.

The challenge

Two days. Who is worth talking to?

Every attendee came looking for something specific: a supplier, an integration partner, a customer. Finding them among more than a thousand companies, aisle by aisle, is down to luck. Fira de Barcelona wanted the event app to help each person find the right ones.

A profile for every attendee

Accreditation data and a short questionnaire became a profile: what they offer, what they are looking for, which sector they work in and what stage their project is at.

AI matching

The AI cross-checked every profile and scored the affinity of each pair: what one is looking for and the other offers, shared interests, compatible goals and each person’s schedule.

The AI breaks the ice

For each connection, MICENET opened the conversation by explaining to both people why they are a good fit, with a specific reason to talk.

Meetings in the agenda

It proposed meetings with a time and place at the fair. Each person could accept or decline them, and accepted ones went into their event agenda.
